Polygon PoS Bridge
Digital assets are native to the blockchain network they're originally issued on. Conventionally, users cannot use an asset that's native to one network on another network. For example, you cannot use Polygon USDC on Ethereum mainnet; you must somehow get your hands on some Ethereum USDC, which is USDC native to Ethereum.
Through a bridge protocol, however, users can use an asset on networks other than the one it's native to. Different bridges provide various ways to do this, but the bottom line is, it's possible to transfer assets from one network to another.
Intella X has integrated Polygon PoS Bridge into the wallet application to provide a convenient way for our users to send assets between Ethereum and Polygon networks. Follow the steps below to send your assets from one network to another.
Consider a few things before you use the bridge.
While it may be tempting to use the bridge to quickly transfer your assets between Polygon and Ethereum networks, there are a few things you MUST know about the PoS bridge.
Sending assets from Polygon to Ethereum takes two transactions—one to send your assets to a "checkpoint" and another to receive your assets on Ethereum. The moment you send your assets to the checkpoint, they are not recoverable in any way. Hence, bridge transactions are irreversible.
Once you initiate the first transaction that sends your assets to the checkpoint, you cannot quit halfway through. If your assets are at the checkpoint, the only way to get them back is to finish the bridge transaction by initiating the second transaction, and this takes ETH gas fee as it's a transaction that occurs on the Ethereum network. Make sure you have some ETH in your wallet to pay for the transaction fee before using the bridge.
Conversely, sending assets from Ethereum to Polygon is a lot simpler. Only one transaction is necessary, and it only costs ETH (you don't need MATIC). But regardless of whichever direction you send your assets, we highly recommend that you do some calculations on transaction fees before deciding to transfer your assets through the bridge.
Deposit (from Ethereum to Polygon)
On the wallet's main screen, locate the type of asset you want to send to the Polygon network and tap the Bridge icon associated with that asset.
Check that you're on the Deposit tab and enter the amount of assets you want to transfer in the From field.
You only need to pay the transaction fee once when depositing (for Ethereum to Polygon transactions only). Tap the Transfer button to continue.
Pay the transaction fee associated with the deposit process, in ETH. Tap the Next button to continue.
You will see the "Transfer In Progress" message. Close the window and wait for your assets to arrive.
If the transaction is successful, you will see that your assets have moved to the Polygon network. You may also confirm receipt of your assets via your Transaction History. Tap on your transaction in the history to check the "Transfer Success" message.

Withdraw (from Polygon to Ethereum)
On the wallet's main screen, locate the type of asset you want to send to the Ethereum network and tap the Bridge icon associated with that asset.
Check that you're on the Withdraw tab and enter the amount of assets you want to transfer in the From field.
Sending assets from Polygon to Ethereum using the bridge requires you to complete two transactions. The first transaction requires MATIC, while the second transaction requires ETH. Tap the Transfer button to continue.
Pay your transaction fee in MATIC to initiate the first of two bridge transactions. Tap the Next button to continue.
You will see the "Waiting for Checkpoint" message. It takes anywhere between 45 minutes to 3 hours for your assets to arrive at the checkpoint. Close the window and wait for your assets to arrive.
Once your assets arrive at the checkpoint, you will see the option to start your second transaction on the Bridge screen under Transaction History. Select the transaction that's labeled Action Required.
You will be prompted to confirm one more transaction to receive your assets on the Ethereum network. Tap Continue.
Pay your transaction fee in ETH to initiate the second bridge transaction. Tap the Next button to continue. If the transaction is successful, you will see that your assets have moved to the Ethereum network.
