How do I resolve a pending transaction?
Low transaction fees may cause a transaction to fall into a pending status. Continue reading to learn about pending transactions and how you can clear them.
You're prompted to set a transaction (gas) fee when you initiate a transaction. If the transaction fee you set is much lower than the network's gas price, your transaction falls into and remains as a pending status. You must replace this pending transaction in order to complete the transaction.
On the blockchain, a pending transaction works like a blocker—it stops the next transactions from executing, causing more pending transactions down the line. Once the pending transaction is cleared, then the next transactions will be executed.
You must set a higher transaction fee to clear a pending transaction. Alternatively, you can wait for the blockchain network's gas price to decrease and eventually clear the pending transaction. This takes time, however, and depending on the network's status, may take even a week.
Intella X Wallet offers user-friendly UI so that you can take care of pending transactions quickly and conveniently. Follow the instructions below to clear pending transactions.
From the main screen, navigate to the Wallet tab and tap on the bell icon to see your list of pending transactions.
Choose Accelerate to open the Accelerate Transaction window.
Tap on the OK button to pay an additional fee and push your pending transaction to completion.
*Note that it may be difficult to clear pending transactions if there’s a sharp increase in gas price. This is because the increase in gas price is much greater than the threshold you can set through the application.
